Cambrey was raised in a military family and moved around frequently until attending Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA on an ROTC Scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and obtained her Masters in Science in Engineering and Construction Management from Missouri S&T while attending the Captains Career Course.
Cambrey is a Veteran and served as an Engineer Officer in the Army for over nine years including a deployment in Iraq. She transitioned to Civil Service with the Army Corps of Engineers in 2009 as Contract Administrator and Construction Project Manager.
In 2020 Cambrey moved to Columbia County to continue her project management work at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She closed out her 25+ years of service as the Strategic Planner for the Transformation Cell of the US Army Cyber Center of Excellence.
She retired in September 2025 but her passion for service didn’t.

Cambrey is an avid reader, crafter, DIY enthusiast and outdoorswoman. She volunteers with several organizations in the CSRA and frequently kayaks with her husband Pete and friends in the Canoe and Kayak Club of Augusta.
