My career has prepared me to effectively lead our county, ensuring transparency, accountability, smart growth & development and a strong future for all residents.

Leadership and Meeting Management

As a Company Commander in the United States Army, I led and trained over 200 soldiers in response to Hurricane Rita and deployed to Ramadi, Iraq, managing complex engineering and combat operations and developing junior leaders. This experience, coupled with my roles as Chief of Engineering & Construction at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and as a Senior Project Manager for military construction projects worldwide, has equipped me with the discipline and organizational skills necessary to effectively conduct Commission meetings, prepare comprehensive agendas and foster productive discussions. My ability to lead diverse teams and manage high-stakes projects translates directly to guiding the Board through critical decisions for our county.

Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Oversight

Throughout my career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, I was responsible for developing and executing project budgets with multiple funding streams totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. This included ensuring compliance with U.S. Fiscal Law requirements and facilitating customer decision-making on cost, scope, and schedule. This rigorous financial management experience is crucial for overseeing Columbia County's budget, managing SPLOST funds effectively, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and transparently.

Project Management and Infrastructure Development

My extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager involved the life cycle management of numerous large-scale construction projects, including new schools and critical infrastructure.  I have a proven track record of coordinating designs, managing procurement, ensuring regulatory compliance and anticipating and mitigating project risks. This expertise is directly applicable to overseeing Columbia County's infrastructure projects, managing growth and ensuring that new developments meet our community's needs and standards.

Transparency and Accountability

My upbringing in a service oriented military family instilled in me a deep commitment to integrity and accountability. I believe in open government and will work to enhance public access to information, ensuring that county operations and decision-making processes are transparent. I will advocate for clear communication channels and proactive engagement with residents on all matters affecting our community.

Stakeholder Engagement and Community Representation

In my roles, I consistently managed requirements of and maintained relationships with a diverse group of project stakeholders, including government agencies, our host nations of Germany, Italy and Israel and end-users. This experience has taught me the importance of active listening, clear communication and building consensus. As Chair, I will represent Columbia County at all official functions and ensure that the voices of our residents, businesses and community organizations are heard and considered in all decisions.
